Student Health and Wellness Medical Insurance Provision
Toronto High School strongly advocates for the comprehensive health and wellness of all students, particularly our international scholars who may not be immediately eligible for provincial health coverage. Access to quality medical care is a non-negotiable prerequisite for a successful and uninterrupted academic experience in Canada. Consequently, we offer access to a dedicated Student Medical Insurance package to cover essential health costs.
The optional student medical insurance plan is available at a rate of $800 per year. This plan is designed to provide coverage for emergency medical services, basic physician visits, and hospital care, protecting students from the high costs of healthcare for non-residents in Canada. While this insurance is listed as an optional service in the fee schedule, the institution highly recommends that every international student secure comprehensive medical coverage for the entire duration of their stay.
The benefits of utilizing the school-provided medical insurance package include:
- Comprehensive Coverage: Protection against unforeseen medical emergencies and expenses.
- Ease of Enrollment: The cost is conveniently integrated into the student’s fee structure, simplifying the process of acquiring necessary coverage.
- Peace of Mind: Students and parents can be assured that a health incident will not create an academic or financial crisis.
Students are advised to review the details of the policy with our administrative team upon arrival to fully understand the scope of coverage, deductible limits, and claims process. Ensuring continuous medical coverage throughout the academic year is a vital component of the international student’s responsibilities, guaranteeing that any health issues can be addressed promptly without compromising their academic pursuit of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
