Domestic Student Enrollment Prerequisites

For local students residing within Canada, particularly those in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), the admission process is designed to be straightforward while maintaining academic integrity. Enrollment at Toronto High School is a commitment to academic advancement, culminating in the globally recognized Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). To be considered for admission into our programs (full-time, part-time, night school, or summer school), the following documentation is rigorously required:

  1. Proof of Identity: A valid, government-issued photo identification is mandatory for all students to confirm identity.
  2. Academic History: The submission of an official copy of the most recent academic transcript, typically the Ontario Student Transcript (OST), is required. This document must clearly delineate all completed high school credits to date, which is essential for our guidance counselors to determine course prerequisites and formulate a compliant path to graduation.
  3. Full-Time Status Compliance: Students intending to enroll in a full-time program must adhere to the institutional definition of full-time study: enrollment in a minimum of three (3) subjects per semester, which guarantees at least 5 hours of instruction per week.

Furthermore, all local students are expected to familiarize themselves with the available course modalities. While we offer accredited online learning, local students residing in the GTA are strongly encouraged to consider the Blended Course format, which incorporates synchronous face-to-face sessions via platforms like Zoom or Skype. These sessions allow for direct teacher evaluation, testing, and crucial feedback, which has been shown to yield superior academic results. This emphasis on personalized interaction ensures a highly effective educational experience tailored to the individual learning needs of the local student body.
